Latte + Guinness Litter - 11/4/2001

We are deeply saddened to announce that Latte passed away 10 hours after her C-Section delivering 11 healthy pups: 7 yellow boys, 2 black boys and 2 black girls. She gave her puppies everything she had and kept nothing for herself. She was truly the most devoted and giving Lab we have ever had. Her memories will go on forever. We miss her dearly.

We have three surrogate bitches who are doing a fabulous job on Latte's behalf. Cathy Chisholm of Avonlea Labradors so kindly brought over her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Black Labrador bitches who are nursing the pups without hesitation. Then, as of Friday 11/9, our Winnie (who has never had pups) began to produce milk for the pups. All I can say is "what a miracle!" Winnie acts as if she was given instructions by Latte to take over.
